The structure, built in 1930, is located in Schkeuditz, right at the gates to Leipzig. In the 1920s and 30s, very plain and nondescript apartment buildings were constructed. Their simple and plain style was a marked contrast to the ornately decorated structures erected during the Grunderzeit in the mid-to-late 19th century.
Not only the facades changed, the floor plans and construction also reflected the changing economic realities of the time. Thinner walls and floors are characteristic of the apartments of that era. Form followed function.

The 2016 renovation created modern two-room and three-room apartments. The units were upgraded with the addition of a new balcony structure. The new interiors are top quality and match the unadorned architecture. High-quality laminate flooring and large tile give these units functionality and durability while evoking a modern appearance.
